This is our favourite nearby hiking trails. They are moderate difficulty for Ontario, amd wind through beautiful forest along 2 creeks. The main entrance and parking lot is off of the 1000 Islands Parkway, but you can also enter on Mallorytown Road near the exit on the 401.
Jones Creek Trails - Thousand Islands National Park

Locally-run cross country ski club only a few kilometers away. Features cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking and fat-tire biking in the dry seasons.
