Hervey Bays Famous Historic Urangan pier 868m long, Beautiful walk out and back, great local fishing spot.
Built 1913-1917 was originally 1124 metres long. The pier was closed in 1985 and 239m of it was demolished. Due to public outcry the remaining 868m was left and the land was handed to the Hervey Bay City Council. The pier was originally used to carry full sized steam engines which hauled cargo wagons to the waiting ships docked at the end of the pier.
