Crow Lake Beach is located around 1895-1893 Crow Lake Road, just before Hagan Road in Maberly, past The Oaks Cottages on Crow Lake. There is a small boat launch and parking area with a picnic bench.

The large sandy beach at Black Lake is lovely, and the hiking trails are very nice.

One of our favorite on-route stops. We love the organic, locally-sourced meats, dairy and fresh produce here. Most of all, we love the home-made baked treats and the many jams, honeys, sauces and all kinds of preserves.

This 45km stretch of trail connects to the iconic Trans Canada Trail at Sharbot Lake and passes through the Frontenac Arch UNESCO Biosphere Region. It is an excellent trail to ATV, bike, or hike. The closest access point from our cottage is at 1363 Fish Creek Road only 5 minutes away.

This trail is picturesque and quiet, only 7min away from the cottage at Bradshaw Road just before Highway 38. Excellent biking and walking route.

Neighbourhoods
The island cottage community of Oak Shores is tight-knit, quiet and private. The coastal parts of the island are populated with pretty cottages, while the inland portions are mostly dense untamed woods. Majority of the cottages are built in the 1970s, and are owner-occupied. The surrounding forests are beautiful, but wild; so please be aware that you may come across potentially dangerous animals, plants or insects at any time. Oak Shores Crescent leads to the island's North coast, which is what locals lovingly call "the Dark Side". The elevation increases on the Dark Side, so be prepared for a steep hike if you choose to walk around the Crescent! Oak Shores Lane is on the South side of the island, which connects to Oak Shores Crescent and also leads to our driveway and the rest of Acorn Lane (which is a dead end). The community is peaceful and serene, so please try to respect the natural environment and our neighbours during your stay.
