Largo do Priorado
If you have an interest in architecture, in this square you'll find a well preserved set of modernist houses from the 1920's, one of the best if not last good examples in Porto. You'll also find one of the "monumental" high schools built during the dictactorship during the 1930's. This square also presents the oldest church in Porto, the XXI century romanic "São Martinho de Cedofeita" church.
One of the most ancient and beautiful squares in Porto. Its well preserved medieval ambience is worth a visit. As a curiosity, you'll find one of the "twin" facade churches in Porto, Igreja dos Grilos, this being the original one. A baroque XVI century Jesuit church.

The walk along the river from "Ribeira" to "Foz" is a long one, but definitely one of the high points for sightseeing and walks in Porto. If you have the time and the legs to do it, enjoy! If its sunny, do it during the afternoon and finish with a beautiful sunset when you get to "Passeio Alegre". Alternatively, you can use the old tram to do this route, or even rent a bike near "Ribeira" to do it.

This tiny square is a personal favorite in Porto. Its church has a copy of the façade found in the Jesuit baroque church of "Grilos", with its own different interior, something not that common. Its also said that of the dozens of churches in the city, this is the one where the mass isn't celebrated... Also in this square you'll find the "São João Novo" palace, a XVIII century unique baroque palace. Its hiding location and configuration makes it a very nice square. From here, you can go down the stairs, "Escadas do caminho novo", connecting this square with the riverfront. These stairs are also the best way to go up to "virtudes" when walking.

Foz do Douro, known locally as "Foz Velha" (Old Foz), is a typical neighborhood that extends in a large mazy cobblestone alleys between walls and houses. Originally a village away from the city (residents still refer going downtown as "going to Porto"), it was a fishermen and agriculture town, and where rich families had summerhouses. Its bourgeois resident families were mainly english families with ties to port wine commerce, families that you can still find in many of the discreet but massive houses inside the thin alleys. Walking through these maze of streets and alleys can be a very nice experience, you'll be able to feel inside a village with a certain stillness in time.

"Afurada" is the fishermen neighborhood in the "Vila Nova de Gaia" side of the river. With its humble houses and pretty much alive residents, many still in the fishing business, its one of the last standing typical neighborhoods in its ambience. You can find good "tascos" where you can eat fish and seafood, as well as drink some barrel wine. You'll have a very nice view to the "Lordelo" area in Porto, access to a protected resort for birds with a beach, bicycle tracks, walking routes and now also a modern marina where you can find sailboat rides.
