Stinky's is one of my favorite places to eat in South Walton County. It has a fun and funky vibe and an excellent menu featuring fresh local seafood and specialties from the coastal areas of Louisiana. I always look forward to their Daily Chef's Selections.

Hamilton's Bistro is the newest restaurant in Freeport and the closest one to the apartment. It is a GREAT place to dine and features a varied menu that changes daily. Their Pizza is 100% Homemade and delicious. I have also had great salads and soups there as well as Authentic English Fish and Chips and great sandwiches. Kate and Fred are from England are GREAT People. Live Entertainment is also offered regularly. Check their website for specific details.

They offer a sumptuous buffet featuring all your favorites in addition to boiled shrimp, freshly shucked oysters, two varieties of mussels. There is also a Sushi Buffet and a Hibachi where they will prepare a variety of fresh seafood and vegetables.

Defuniak Springs is located just north of Freeport and is a great little Southern town. Srtolling around the downtown area you will find historic buildings, plenty of shops and an almost perfectly round spring fed lake that is a scientific wonder.

The Bayou offers excellent access to Choctawhatchee Bay.

Take an easy drive to the world famous beaches of South Walton County or enjoy shopping in one of the eclectic towns on CR 30-A. You can also explore Historic Defuniak Springs just 30 minutes north of Freeport on Highway 331. Destin is of course a must visit for it's Fishing Fleet, Shopping and Dining. Destin is also a short 30 minute drive along the North shore of Choctawhatchee Bay and across the Mid-Bay Bridge.
