Taking a bus to Gion from Kyoto Station is really easy. At the bus terminal in front of Kyoto Station’s north exit you can catch Kyoto City Bus service 100 from bus stop D1, or Kyoto City Bus service 206 from bus stop D2.

Amanohashidate (天橋立) is a pine covered sandbar that spans the mouth of Miyazu Bay in the scenic, coastal region of northern Kyoto Prefecture.
Several other attractions can be explored on foot or by rental bicycle at either end of the sandbar. They include a couple of temples, a shrine, a small amusement park and observation decks from which to enjoy the view.
