The Wildflower Center is a gorgeous botanical garden open to the public year-round. Go for the spectacular architecture and beautiful gardens featuring exclusively Texas native plants recognized for their beauty and sustainability.
For a fun 1-2 hours — grab lunch at the cafe, walk the grounds (or take a tour) and end the trip with a visit to the gift shop.
October thru January — check out Fortlandia with the kids. Fortlandia is a collection of custom forts designed and built by local artists and designers. These creative spaces will transport you to imaginary worlds and spark an appreciation for art and nature. Your secret hideout awaits!

Food scene
The Alamo Drafhouse on Slaughter Lane is of my favorite movie theaters in Austin!
It's one of the newest of the drafthouses and features upgraded seating and tables. The reclining chairs are wonderful! They recently added lights that allow you to notify the wait staff during the film. Super convenient!
And the attached bar that accompanies the theater is a favorite place for my friends and me to meet before the movie and chat about it afterward.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Slaughter Lane
5701 W Slaughter LnThe Alamo Drafhouse on Slaughter Lane is of my favorite movie theaters in Austin!
It's one of the newest of the drafthouses and features upgraded seating and tables. The reclining chairs are wonderful! They recently added lights that allow you to notify the wait staff during the film. Super convenient!
