Parks & Nature

Great hiking spot (fit hikers recommended) or if you're after a more leisurely scene - pack a picnic basic and enjoy the views from the wooden viewing decks. ** It's first come first serve.

This very special blue flag beach offers stunning beach walks and life guards in the peak summer season (Dec to April) The dunes have an array of coastal birds nesting and bringing up their young. We love early morning beach walks followed by breakfast at Lookout Deck.

Explore the ancient Keurbooms River still in it's natural state. Great for bird watchers. The ferry offers 1.5 hours round trip a few kilometers up the beautiful river valley. You'll stop at one of the stunning little beaches up river and be able to exlore for a few minutes or enjoy a picnic. There are basic toilets. Be sure to take the mozzie spray which is also helpful to keep other little bugs away.

Sightseeing

Be sure to bring your camera to capture some of the best views in Plett. Lookout for whales during the whale season or the local surfers catching a wave. If you're an early riser - I'd suggest bringing a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise. Spectacular!

Food scene

My favourite spot to grab a quick cuppa and a croissant. They are open from 7.00am to 4pm. They’ve recently added a bar to experience Plett’s homegrown sparking wine from Newstead. The carrot cake is also a hit.

Central Beach and Poortjies Lagoon

Great places to spend time with smaller people. Central Beach - one of our safest and most popular swimming beaches is great for a day at the beach. Locals and holiday makers with smaller children enjoy the warmer tidal lagoon known as Poortjies. It is a dog friendly beach, so expect locals with their dogs enjoying the lagoon and water too.
