This elegant bathhouse is the location for the park visitor center and the museum. It's free and so very interesting to see. Check out all the other bathhouses and other beautiful sites on Central Avenue. Go behind Bathhouse Row to walk on the Grand Promenade. It's so relaxing.

The trip to the mountain tower alone will give you great views of the beautiful scenery. You can take a few empty water bottles and fill them up at one of the springs to drink amazing tasting water.

DeSoto Nature (1.2 Mile One Way) – this is a natural surface walking trail that includes two loops. The first loop is level, and the second loop has an easy uphill grade to a bench overlook and the top of the dam from where you can see Lake Desoto and the pretty houses. We always take the trail that leads us right next to the water the entire time and it will get you to the top of the dam. Pretty much, you will make a loop around part of the water. Parking is available at DeSoto Park, 201 DeSoto Park Lane.
I find this trail to be so peaceful and beautiful.

This lake is so very pretty. Take the kiddos for a swim in the safety of a beach area. Go walk the trails.

Besides the two marinas at Hot Springs Village where you can rent a pantoon boat and other water sports equipment, Lake Ouachita also has a marina with boat rentals. It's approximately 17 miles from the bakehouse.

The small marina has pontoon boat rental and other water sport equipment as well as a great restaurant overlooking the lake and a small pier where the children can jump into the lake. Please see DeSoto Beach listing if you want to go the the actual beach area.

We recommend this place because it is so very beautiful and peaceful. You can spend hours walking through it all! We actually purchase a yearly pass and then use this pass not only to visit at Garvan, but other gardens in other cities that belong to the American Horticultural Society - 345 gardens! And the pass you get at Garvan is one of the least expensive as compared to other Gardens (no guarantees - check it out for yourself). We have used this pass in all other States we have visited.
