The most popular areas in Grenada for hiking and trekking is undoubtedly the rainforest around the Grand Etang Forest Reserve, high up in the mountains of the island's interior. Grand Etang's varied elevations and terrains maintain several different ecological subsystems, culminating in the elfin woodlands high up the slopes of the reserve's central mountains. Grand Etang's flora includes towering mahogany and giant gommier trees as well as a multitude of ferns, tropical flowers, and other indigenous plants. The lush vegetation provides shelter for a wide variety of animals, particularly for the island's many species of birds. The broad winged hawk (known here as the gree-gree), Lesser Antil

Originally a small estate, Hyde Park only had a tiny flower and kitchen garden. The remainder of the property was planted in fruit and hardwood trees and was pasture land for grazing cattle. However, in only a few years this has been transformed into one of Grenada'a finest gardens. When you walk around Hyde Park today and see the abundance and variety of palms, cycads, heliconias, bougainvillea and other tropical plants it is hard to believe that this is such a young garden. Tours can be booked by appointments only.

The Grand Etang National Park is a quite an interesting location in Grenada, I especially enjoyed the Crater Lake and that is where I met the Grenadian Monkey (Mona Monkey I believe). The park itself consists of buildings and some shops. I also noticed a well kept and labeled garden on the grounds. The Gazebo and other oriental looking structures at the lake shore were quite cultural and noteworthy as well. The national Park area is quite large and the central area I mentioned only take up a small portion of the vast expanse. I learned that there are hiking tours and nature walks in the mountainous vicinity and picnics and many other events possible at the lake side or in the garden. Park

While visiting Pink Gin Beach, sunworshippers can enjoy a wide selection if watersports including snorkeling at the colorful coral reef formation. Beach goers can also find kayak rentals, a shopping center less than five miles away, and a fascinating volcanic crater lake. The wildlife here is also incredible with beautiful exotic birds and whale and dolphin watching. Situated toward the western outskirts of the vicinity of St. George's, 1.2 miles west of Calliste, Pink Gin Beach is on the South West coast of Grenada. You might think about stopping by even if you aren't staying very close. If activity and variety isn't your thing, you'll be glad that many of Grenada's beaches are quiet.

The 450 acre Levera National Park holds a strong reputation as Grenada's most scenic and spectacular coastal area. Its picture-perfect beach is quite popular on weekends, and its lagoon is one of the most important wildlife habitats on the island. Consisting of an extensive mangrove swamp, the lagoon is a haven for an abundance of bird species, including many herons, black-necked stilts, common snipes, and other waterfowl. Levera's marine areas are equally esteemed, with outstanding coral reefs and sea grass beds that shelter lobster and beautiful reef fishes. The beaches are also a hatchery for sea turtles, which are protected from May to September.

If you like to hike, then this is a treat. The Concord waterfalls is not one, but three waterfalls. It is situated on the edge of the forest reserve on the western side of the island, and therefore the water is crystal clear and ice cold. Of the three waterfalls in this area, the first one is the most readily access able, with a paved road leading almost directly up to it. There is nothing like a taking a bracing dip in a cool mountain stream, so we do suggest that you walk with the necessary clothing. The second of the three falls is bigger and taller, and is reached only after a 45 minute hike. The trail goes through a nutmeg plantation and is readily marked, so a guide is not absolutely

Situated 3 miles (5 km) off the northern tip of Grenada, this large private island is covered in lush green vegetation and enjoys a tropical climate. The island is composed of 2 volcanic knolls, separated by a flat plain. The terrain is nicely elevated, and the shoreline is indented with small bays. Sandy beaches are located at different places along the coast, and a road network on the island provides easy access. There are 4 uninhabited houses on Ile de Caille, as well as an airstrip. Electricity is available, and water is stored in a 40,000 gallon (151 000 litre) tank.

Such a great place to visit. The food is a wonderful exhibition of local cuisine with fresh, aromatic spices and a good variety to chose from. The eating venue is a gorgeous open space with attentive service. The chocolate tour is fascinating with a mix of old and new techniques on display. The chocolate is expensive but amazing and nuanced like a fine wine. There are also some animals that are a fun bonus. The kids love visiting here and there are plenty of sights along the way. We met at the main jetty and proceeded up the to the left of the island called Madam Pierre which had a very interesting history as to how it got it's name. From there we trailed off road and upward to the Piton which is the highest peak, which had the most magnificent view of the other surrounding Grenadine islands. A view that literally takes your breath away. After a short rest we continued on our journey around the island and went to a big grassy field called Naho where there was evidence of a large well like structure constructed from large stones, mixed with cattle down and limestone dirt to form.

Underwater Sculpture Park The Sculptures One of our most popular snorkeling sites is an underwater gallery of sculptures in our Molinere Beauséjour Marine Protected Area, that very much reflect Grenada’s culture. Fashioned from a variety of media but predominantly from simple substrates including concrete and rebar, they create an ideal substrate, relatively fixed and permanent, on which marine life may develop. They are sympathetically located to enhance the reef, making natural use of its varied topography of craggy gullies and sun-dappled sandy patches. As artificial reefs, these sculptures are proving highly successful so far in attracting a stunning array of varied marine life.
