I love this coffee shop. Coffee is great, has a small-town feel in a big city. The staff is all super nice. they do a pumpkin spice latte that puts Starbucks to shame.

This has a limited menu but everything I've tried here is amazing. It's only open for limited hours so it's best to make a reservation. Its a great spot to meet up with friends or grab a drink and dine at the bar alone if you want.

Vegan smoothies and tacos with pita bread! Amazing healthy food and they do taco Tuesdays/ Saturdays where you can get a smoothie and tacos for $14. My favorite is the purple rain smoothie and the rainbow tacos. There is a place to dine in since its all outside but there's 3 tables you can sit at that are in the shade.

This is at the base of the hill and is some of the greatest serving-sized burritos and bowls. It's not quite Chipotle and if you live in California the Mexican food across Oahu might disappoint you but it's alright and good value for what you pay.

Sightseeing
This is literally one block up from the house. They have shorter trails and then some great connection trails to all over Honolulu or down into Manoa, its nick name is Narnia by the locals since it has so many Hawaii style pine trees. There is also a great picnic area and a view point of Manoa valley.

They have shorter trails and then some great connection trails to all over Honolulu or down into Manoa, its nick name is Narnia by the locals since it has so many Hawaii style pine trees. There is also a great picnic area and a view point of Manoa valley.
This hike is in the valley to the west of where the house is. Its a very popular hike so its best to go early in the morning before too many people are on the trail. If you're really ambitious you can hike here from the house but its probably 4 hours. You can check the trail maps on alltrails.com if you want to attempt that. Otherwise there is a way to either take a short hike down from Waahila ridge not on the ridge the whole way but just down to Manoa town. You can bus here it might take some time but you'd go from the 14 to the 1, to the 6. Details are on thebus.org

This has been an up-and-coming artsy part of town. It's smaller than Kaakako which is closer to downtown. They have some amazing small restaurants and businesses. The area considered Kaimuki is between Manoa and Palolo Valley all the way toward Kahala Mall and Waikiki. In the downtown region there's lots of little shops and paintings. If you go up on the hills known as St. Louis heights (where the place is) and Wilhelmina Rise the opposite ridge line there are some amazing views and a great workout just walking up hill.

This grocery store is the closest to the house. It has great deals on local food and has a Longs Drugs just upstairs in case they don't have exactly what you need Longs has a good selection for an affordable price as well. There are also some other fast food and tea places nearby so it's a good central spot in Kaimuki to get groceries.
