Neighborhoods

Bridgeport is a very old working class neighborhood. It is generally quiet with some little gems tucked in here and there. In the summer, try renting a DIVVY bicycle located a various corners near us and take a ride down 31st street to the beach. It's a little 15 minutes by bike. About 2 miles. Most visible activity is summertime baseball at White Sox Park. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/tickets For other things to do, check out this site. Here's a link that should help. On warmer days it's not a bad walk for about 1/2 hour but Chicago can be pretty nippy come November. https://www.choosechicago.com/neighborhoods/chinatown/

We used to live in this neighborhood and loved it. 18th street is soooooo vibrant. If you're here on Good Friday, the annual Stations of the Cross Procession is held in the morning. Via Crucis or The Living Way of the Cross begins around 9:00am at the Providence of God parish on 18th Street and ends at Harrison Park near Damen Ave. Another link: https://www.choosechicago.com/neighborhoods/pilsen/
