Auklandshamn

Auklandshamn is a beautiful small village with about 400 inhabitants. Here is a small primary school with a great outdoor area; playground, barbecue house, ball binge, table tennis and tennis court. This is really “therapy” and recreation:) * Go for a walk to the sea and enjoy the waves and maybe try fishing Our guests can borrow our boathouse and terrace in Kvernavika for free:) Auklandshamn is located along the sea, and there are a lot of beautiful places at the sea * Hiking to “Slettene”(Lammavågen) Located by the sea only 800m (east ) from the apartment. Beautiful area with two small bridges, pier, table / bench and barbecue, beside is a small beach) * Hiking around Storavatnet in Auklandshamn through the forest; 5,3 km roundtrip. Follow the sign: “Storavatnet rundt” * Auklandshamn has swimming opportunities in the sea and in lakes: Lakes: -Storavatnet Auklandshamn -Langavatnet: Beach and pier - Mjånestjørna (small lake, not beach, but rocks to sit on) -storavatnet Bua (beach andpier (8km) Beach by the sea: -Slettene (Lammavågen) -Øklandsnes( Hansastranda) —- //// —— //// —— //// —— Other beaches: -Grunnavåg, Buavåg (8km) -Førde (15 km) -Holsvika (Tittelsnes 30 km) - Vedvika (Langevåg, Bømlo) sandy beach (9 km+ferry +8 km) - Kvalsvik (Haugesund, 30 km) - Åkrasanden (Karmøy, 60km) Really beautiful sandy beach( long)

Lammavågen

SLETTENE in Lammavågen (Google maps: «slettene friluftsområde») Only 1 km (10-15 min ) walk from the apartment:) small bridges,pier, table/ benches and a grill🤩 I really recommend this amazing place 50 meters past the pier there is a small beach in a cove, here it is nice to swim or catch small crabs :) Directions: from the apartment go down road and right, go past a farm and down the hill (past the path that goes to Storavatnet and the canoe) Follow sign: Slettene : Follow the road up the hill, go through a gate, across the fields and a staircase over a fence. Follow the red marks and the path down towards the sea. I recommend to wear hiking shoes

Lammavågen

Mjånesvegen

A short 10 minute walk down Mjånesvegen is Kvernavika :) It’s lovely to enjoy the sea outside the boathouse🤩It’s amazing to sit outside the boathouse to eat, do fishing or just enjoy the waves and maybe a good book in the hammock 🤩 Our guests can stay here for free:) We are restoring the quay and the boathouse;sorry about the mess Mjånesvegen 108 and to the left behind all the boathouses:)walk to the left behind the brown boathouse with blue door , and down a gravel road

Gallery Økland: On the way down to Kvernavika you pass Galleri Økland, if the artist Billy Økland is inside painting it’s possible to come in and look at his works of art :) Otherwise the gallery is open every Sunday from 12 He has beautiful paintings and pictures for sale ;) A visit here is higly recommended 🤩 He open after apointment so just send me a message:) read tripadvisor for more information about this gallery🤩

Øklandsvegen

A Beautiful 5 or 3 km trip in Auklandshamn on a paved road with amazing sea view on the fjord ( Bømlafjorden)Here is also nice to take an evening-walk, good lights along the entire route :) Go down to the busstop, and left up Mjånesvegen, here you will pass some sheeps on the field. Up the hill is a big brown barn, walk to the right here ( sign:Tjernagel) You past the supermarket on the left after about 200 m If you want a short round -trip (3 km), you can turn right at the next intersection; Geilo (gps) and walk down to Mjånesvegen:) Or Follow Øklandsvegen further about 500 meter; on the right side you will see the historical memorial (monument) from World War II. Further you can walk to Øklandsnes, great sea view while walking along the road. You will pass a small river (under the road.) If you want you can walk to the left at the busstop Øklandsnes. Here you can go down to the quay and watch the boats and boathouses in the bay :) On the way back, turn left after the monument to Geilo. You pass a stream and you get a beautiful seaview to Bømlo. Go down the hill and to the right you are back at the bus stop at Nedre Økland. If you want to visit our boathouse in Kvernavika,and maybe have some coffe / lunch on the terrace by the sea, turn left on Mjånesvegen and

A Canoe trip in Storavatnet is beautiful :) It is only 5 minuts walk from the apartment :)The canoe is free of charge for our guests and can be used whenever you want:) Please use lifevests!!(they are in the garage) In «Storavatnet» there are lot of beautiful places to take a swim, have a picnic or just paddle around and enjoy the silence of the nature and listen to the birds:) Direction: from the apartment go down the road and right, you’ll past a farm , go down the hill. To the right you’ll se a path with sign “Storavatnet rundt”. Follow the path 50 meters to the lake: The canoe is there

Storavatnet

Hike around Storavatnet: Great roundtrip (about 5 km )through the forest. Follow the sign: "Storavatnet rundt" (same place as the canoe is) The hike starts 5 min from the apartment Fantastic quiet and beautiful nature area where you have the lake on one side and the seaview (Lammavågen) on the other side :) You walk along the water towards the forest, after about 10 minutes you come to the sea (Lammavågen) continue through the forest, and out on a tractor road. When you have passed a gate, follow the road to the right, and after about 5-10 min go to the right into the path through the forest. The path ends up on the road, and the rest of the trip (about 1.5 km) you just follow the road back to the apartment NB: The path is wet when it has rained (I recommend waterproof hiking shoes)

Storavatnet

Hike around Storavatnet: Great roundtrip (about 5 km )through the forest. Follow the sign: "Storavatnet rundt" (same place as the canoe is) The hike starts 5 min from the apartment Fantastic quiet and beautiful nature area where you have the lake on one side and the seaview (Lammavågen) on the other side :) You walk along the water towards the forest, after about 10 minutes you come to the sea (Lammavågen) continue through the forest, and out on a tractor road. When you have passed a gate, follow the road to the right, and after about 5-10 min go to the right into the path through the forest. The path ends up on the road, and the rest of the trip (about 1.5 km) you just follow the road back to the apartment NB: The path is wet when it has rained (I recommend waterproof hiking shoes)
