Village festa
Don't miss a village festa dedicated to the patron saint of the locality. They mostly happen in summer, with every weekend having some festa or other in some village. Also accompanied by colourful and sometimes noisy fireworks. Some say they are the best in the world. I let you be the judge of that. Winter festas are few. Then there are the Good Friday processions in mid April and Easter Sunday with the procession of the statue of Christ the Risen. With COVID restrictions over, the festa and fireworks season 🔥 will begin in May and end in September with Our Lady of Graces festa in Zabbar!

Get the Tal Linja card from Sliema Strand. Gives you value for money to travel around Malta and Gozo. You can also choose the hop on hop off bus for an easy quick tour around the islands if you don't feel like driving. The ferry to Valletta gives you access not only to Valletta but also to the other ferry to the three cities if you head down the big lift at Castille Gardens. To travel to Gozo a bus from Sliema Strand 222 leaves every hour for Ċirkewwa from where you get the ferry to Gozo but one can also take the slightly more expensive ferry from Valletta to
Gozo.

Nowadays one finds various apps to help with going around. Ecabs and Cool are just two which can help you get around if you don't hire a car. Car hire is also convenient on the other hand. But quite a few like to use the convenient little scooters. All for rental from many outlets.

Ferries and boats
Ferries are a unique way to travel and sometimes shorter route. From Sliema Strand take the Valletta ferry which takes 10mins while from the other side of Valletta one can take the ferry across the Grand Harbour to the Three Cities or even the 40min fast Ferry to the island of Gozo.. One can also take boat tours around the Grand Harbour or to our little jewel Comino Island.

Hop on Hop off Tour Bus
Yes we have them too in Malta and there is one route which passes right down the road from the property. An easy way to go round the island with a day ticket which gives you ample time to stop and view a few places. Also available in Gozo which is even more value for money especially if you only take bus 222 from Sliema Ferries to Ċirkewwa, take the ferry across and just hop onto the bus.
