Aberdeen is a city by the sea, and you can walk there in 30 minutes via the harbour for an interesting look at the ships. The beach promenade is one mile long from end to end, so if you like walking then it's the perfect place. If, however, you get hungry don't worry there are plenty of place to stop and eat.

Neighbourhoods

The oldest most historic part of the city. Interesting walks can include St Machar's Cathedral, the Wallace monument, and the University of Aberdeen, founded in 1395, the third oldest university in Scotland. The weaving, windy streets of Old Aberdeen have seen their fair share of Aberdonian politics, education and culture throughout the ages. Besides the incredible imposing buildings you'll find an array of student haunts, budget eateries and numerous places to indulge in an artisan coffee.
