Památník Rudé armády v Ostravě je národní kulturní památka[1] nacházející se v Komenského sadech v moravské části moderního katastrálního území Moravská Ostrava, na půdě, která původně patřila k Muglinovu[2]. Odhalen byl v roce 1946 v rámci oslav 1. výročí osvobození Československa. Projekt vypracoval architekt Josef Jírovec, autory výtvarného provedení jsou sochaři Konrád Babraj a Karel Vávra. Národní kulturní památkou byl památník prohlášen v roce 1978.

Ostrava conical heap (a man - made hill) in Silesian Ostrava on the right bank of the Ostravice River in the Moravian - Silesian Region. Its peak was demonstrably at a height of 325 m above sea level and was probably also the highest point of Ostrava. Due to burning, settling and mining activities, the height of the Ema Heap decreased, its height is reported to be 312 to 315 m above sea level. Halda is a popular tourist destination, overgrown with forests and offers views of Ostrava and surrounding towns and villages, the Beskydy Mountains, the Low Jeseník, the Moravian Gate and Poland. Its origins probably date back to before 1920. The heap is still working, so white clouds of gas, mainly sulfur dioxide, emanate from it. Its surface is constantly heated by internal processes - inside the burning heap the temperature reaches up to 1500 ° C. At this temperature, among other things, rare minerals are formed - porcelainites and jaspers.
