Definitely a must go for seafood. Normally the best seafood restaurants are located on the nearby town of Matosinhos, but this restaurant in downtown Porto is a great competitor.

A quirky but yet traditional restaurant Come More 5 is a tavern in Baixa do Porto whose specialty is bread with beef tenderloin and Serra cheese, which is considered a Portuguese delicacy. But the menu has a lot more to offer 😊

This is simply, a superb restaurant in a beautiful location. With a Michelin star but not crazy prices, you can have a tasting menu for €80! Our tip: Wagyu, with black truffle, cerefólio root, cow ham, black radish and chard, is a dish capable of providing you with everything you want from a meal.

While many will link Porto (or Oporto) to a delicious glass of Port, this city has many more beautiful sights to offer. Porto is the second largest city in Portugal after Lisbon. The city is located on the Douro River and the historic city center with it's many places to visit has been placed on the Unesco World Heritage List.

The church with the Torre dos Clérigos towers high above the city and is famous is the skyline of Porto. Nicolau Nasoni built this baroque style church in the 18th century. Besides the fact that Nicolau Nasoni designed this church, he also designed many other buildings in Portugal with the same authentic baroque style. Inside the church you can see a lot of marble, granite and carvings. At the western end of this church is the tower which is made entirely of granite. You can freely visit the church, but climbing 225 steps to the top, one of Porto's most popular activities, requires a ticket.

Palacio da Bolsa is the stock exchange palace of Porto and therefore also a very important historical monument. In the 19th century, the Palacio da Bolsa was built as the seat of the trade association. After that time, the building was used, among other things, as a trade fair by order of Queen D. Maria II. The stock exchange building was designed by the architect Joaquim da Costa Lima Júnior. During your stay in Porto, this building is definitely worth a visit, but that is only possible with a reserved guided tour.

Neighbourhoods

This is in our perspective, one of the most ignored neighbourhoods of Porto. As there is no metro and it’s a bit of a stretch from downtown, not many tourists get to come and see the sea side of Porto. Grab a scooter, contour the river and get to experience this part of town which is famous for its amazing beach bars and restaurants, for the beautiful architecture and of course, the views…

This new nightspot is found on Rua José Falcão, housed in the Arab building of the former Depósito de Materiais da Companhia de Cerâmica das Devesas (a monument in Porto). There's graffiti on the walls, signature cocktails and a menu of sumptuous appetisers to go alongside. You'll want to stay for hours, and you should – just be ready to stumble home.

The beer is good, the space is great and the appetisers are even better. One of Lisbon's favourite beer brands has opened its doors on Passeio das Virtudes, facing the Douro. They have 15 taps, eight of which are filled with their own beers and the rest with guests. From the semi-open kitchen comes sandwiches, burgers and the likes, but the vibes really amp up in the evening, when the little tables get folded down to make room for a boogie.
