Pretty much the oldest surviving buildings in the Christchurch CBD. Amazing gothic architecture. Cool boutique cinema, gelato shop, cafe, jewellery store etc. Woodworking market across the road too.

Lots of walking tracks and several playground spaces for kids. In the summer you can use the BBQs there and rent pedal boats and kayaks.

Two man-made lakes in an old quarry site. One for jet ski enthusiasts and the other for swimming. Great place on a hot day. Also provides access to the Otukaikino Walking Track at the back.

Awesome if you're a mountain bike but cool for the rest of us too. You can ride the chair lift up to the top for spectacular views of the city and the Southern Alps.

Lovely golden sand beach. Best on a calm day. Just 20 min drive north of our place.
