Japanese

Cause Mexico City has so much more to offer than Sushi Ittos.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. The menu is huge, the dishes are tasty and the vibe is pretty funky. Plus, it closes really late, which makes it one of the few meals available late at night that isn’t tacos. We’re not the only ones to think so, so be prepared to wait for a table. We love the Spicy Chashu Men Ramen, the sushi rolls, and Maguro Don, and the Toro dishes but there’s sure to be something on the menu to your taste if these offerings are not your particular cup of tea. On the second floor you can find a Japanese Yakinuku grill that’s just as good if not better than the regular section below.

Supposedly modeled after Japanese Izakayas (a bit of a stretch IMO), Kura is a recent and very welcome addition to the Roma neighborhood. Featuring a large menu filled with tasty dishes, Kura stays open fairly late and is pretty close to the apartment. I love the spicy tuna battera and the special cheese onigiris. If you’ve had your fill of tacos and are hungering for some japanese, we highly recommend it.

This tiny Japanese restaurant is perfect for an unpretentious meal at and affordable price. It feels a bit like a Japanese home cooked meal. I personally dig the weekend spicy salmon or tuna bowls.

This omakase restaurant is really expensive and really delicious. You get to choose from only two menu options A & B, but you'll be in good hands.
