Food scene

Memphis is all about its pulled pork BBQ and ribs. Corky's is our favorite BBQ place and this location is near our house. Other good BBQ is Central, Germantown Commissary, The Bar-B-Que Shop (try their BBQ spaghetti). BBQ nachos is also a thing. And BBQ baked potato. Actually BBQ anything! You can get wet BBQ (with sauce) or dry (a spice rub) or muddy (both).

Things to know

Memphis has great drinking water that comes from our aquifer. No need for bottled water here! Try BBQ nachos/BBQ spaghetti--a Memphis thang! As with any city, we have many positives and a few negatives. Just be aware and don't leave items in your car or they may not be there when you return. Also, ladies, don't leave your purse in an unlocked car if you get gas. Some people are sneaky enough to grab it without you seeing. It's happened to 2 of my friends. That said, there are many wonderful things happening in our city, with plenty to see, experience, and eat while you are here!
