Fado was arguably created in Alfama, so you are in its birthplace. You should definitely try it. You make a reservation by having dinner there, so you guarantee a table. If not you just drop by after dinner for drinks and snacks, but you might not find a table. Fado is a portuguese type of music, it's said to be written by the portuguese sailors who are missing home and by their families. One very important rule while the guitars are playing and people are singing please dont make any noise.
