Our closest hiking, just a little down the hill from your unit. You can also access a private beach if you're willing to climb a little. Note that wild animals do reside in the park, such as coyotes and mountain lions. Therefore stay safe and only go when other people are around during the day time.

Tahoe is a 4 hour drive from the unit. In winter there is fantastic skiing, and in summer there's camping and hiking.

During the summers, camping inside the park must be booked 6 months in advance and is highly competitive. However, there is usually camping available just outside the park boundaries. During summer you must purchase day passes to enter the park -- recommend purchasing these in advance.
In winter, it's easier to book a cabin or hotel. There are Airbnbs available inside the park. It does snow and can get quite icy, so snow tires are often required.

Buy roundtrip tickets, and calculate the total price using the charts on ticketing machines. The closest BART station to our home is "Daly City", which has free parking after 10 am on weekdays, and free all day on weekends.
