In a sober but chic, bistrot-style décor, they serve classic French dishes - including snails! La Piscine also has a large street-side terrace, making it a nice place to go for a glass of wine.

This bistrot, located just around the corner from the apartment, is known for being a set in many movies (including Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds). The reason it's so popular with filmmakers is because the decor has not changed in 100 years! The crowd is local and low-key.

This old train station has recently been turned into one of the hippest café/bars in town. Everything at Le Recyclerie is made from recycled objects, giving it lots of charm. Seating is available not just inside the large, sunny building but also outside, with picnic tables nested along the former railroad tracks. There, they've also built a herb garden and a chicken coop.
I recommend their delicious ginger lemonades and bissap juices, which you can order by the pitcher. They also serve nice brunches on the weekend; the menu is always changing.

Last but not least - if you visit Paris on a hot summer day, you'll appreciate the fact that this is one of the very few air-conditioned bars in Paris... Arrive early if you want to secure a seat.
