Food scene
Great place to eat located in the most exclusive hotel in town " Hotel Del Parque" with traditional Coastal Colonial Ecuadorean architecture, in front of the river, and inside a " must see attraction" Parque Historico Guayaquil. You can combine a visit during the day to the park Wednesday to Sunday, and have lunch before or after the visit. The restaurant is opened for dinner, but the park closes at 4pm.
For lunch Monday to Saturday, Afro-Ecuadorean food, plantain based, coconut, seafood. Try the Bollo Mixto (steamed plantain tamale with albacore and veggies wrapped in a banana leaf) and the Encocado mixto (fish and shrimp non spicy curry type stew with rice and plantains, you can have also just fish or just shrimp). With a very short walk.
