Made by water running through a limestone ridge for thousands of years, the tunnel/cave is surrounded on three sides by 400 foot cliffs. Daily coal trains can be seen roaring through! The park offers seven trails for hikers with birds and plants unique to the area. You can also use the chairlift.
"Lighting of the Tunnel" held after Thanksgiving thru the week before Christmas is literally breathtaking! With area choirs, ensembles and acoustic bands this is a great time to visit the tunnel. During the summer the tunnel is lit once a month.
