Nice fresh fish tavern, Mediterranean small and middle-sized fish and specialities. Directions: Take the turn-off to Astrakeri on the road from Roda to Karoussades. Continue for ~3 km until the road ends and find the restaurant on your left

The Three Brothers fish tavern
Nice fresh fish tavern, Mediterranean small and middle-sized fish and specialities. Directions: Take the turn-off to Astrakeri on the road from Roda to Karoussades. Continue for ~3 km until the road ends and find the restaurant on your left
If you're in for a change from all that Mediterranean food ;) Directions: On the main road leading to the seafront in Roda (Turn right at the traffic lights coming from Acharavi).

This tavern on the always lively square of the village of Nymfes only does traditional grilled meats, fried potatoes and salads ... but they do those very well. Popular among the locals and the regular Greek tourists. Try the local red wine!

A nice traditional tavern in the wonderful abandoned village of Old Perithia, with spectacular derelict stone houses. There are two other places as well worth trying.

Nice place right on the sea in Aghios Stafanos, a small fishing harbour overlooking the Albanian coast, some 10km south of Kassiopi.

The real thing: a tavern as it should be on the harbour road of the old town.

The food is plenty and all right, but this place really has a spectacular view, and ... it is in walking distance of the house (500 m down the road in the direction of Acharavi, steep road up on your right-hand side).

Places to swim
Some places in the neighbourhood nice for swimming.
Acharavi has a nice sandy beach that stretches for a couple of km's to the north and the south, with the crowds rapidly thinning out as you move away from the centre.

Acharavi has a nice sandy beach that stretches for a couple of km's to the north and the south, with the crowds rapidly thinning out as you move away from the centre.
A couple of km's to the south of Acharavi, and a definitely quieter beach. Take care to navigate the concrete slabs underwater just at the shoreline, a remnant of WWII.

Although pretty crowded, this is definitely a landmark. The sea has gouged this inlet out of the loamy rocks.

Colourful local small bakery with delicious creative pies, nice coffee, soft drinks & beers, friendly people, in the centre but relatively quiet. Lucky if you find a table! We always visit when in city!
