Amazing local cuisine, with typical Serbian atmosphere. Definitely try rakija (local spirit), winter salad (if in season), kajmak (Serbian cream cheese), ajvar (paprika based spread) and sarma. Portions are very big, so more people can share. The restaurant has a smoking and non smoking section. Both locals and tourist love the place. Just a 1min walk downhill from the apartment.

The restaurant just across the street from the apartment. Trendy and modern but connected to an actual monument - the old Turkish bath, hammam. Good place for having a coffee, but also for lunch or dinner. Busy during workdays lunch time.

Very tiny, but a good place if you want to try something bit different - Knedle. It is a sort of a potato based dumpling, with different fillings - sweet or savory. Try Nutella one. They do take-away as well. Very nice patio during summer time.

Go to Mornar for a complete local experience. Very non touristy, smokey, busy during day and night with great food and grumpy waiters. Try any of the local specialties, salads and soups.

Ada Ciganlija is an island on Sava River. At Ada you can find beaches, bike paths, basketball or soccer fields and a lot of bars and restaurants. You can reach Ada from the apartment by taxi or buses (52, 53, 23 - all nearby), but the best option would be to go with a bicycle (use the one you have at the apartment). It is only a 20-30min ride by the river, depending on your shape. If you want to stop for a coffee or fresh juice, I recommend taking the bike path counter clock wise and going as far as possible, away from the crowd. My favorite place is called Na kraj sveta - At the end of the world, as it is very calm and with great food/drink options.
