Have I told you that we live around the corner of the most vanguard club of Amsterdam at this moment!!!? It is a 3 minute stroll from our door to their door and it goes on and on forever. It also houses a very upscale and experimental restaurant. 'De School is a 24-hours licensed initiative in Amsterdam-West, open 7 days a week as a club, a music venue, a restaurant, a cafe and an exhibition space.'

Just a 7 minute drive from our doorstep! This is where young and cool Amsterdam meets for a good night of clubbing. 'Housing a theatre, a restaurant, a club and creative workspaces all under one roof, there’s always a lot going on at De Marktkantine in Amsterdam. Enjoy a mouth-watering meal at Graceland BAR-B-Q restaurant, get your groove on during a dance night, or get inspired during one of the many masterclasses.'

Everybody wants to go to Anne Frank. If you do too, I have a valuable tip: buy your ticket ahead online to avoid the queue. Trust me I pass this queue practically everyday and feel very sorry for those who have to stand in line for sometimes up to an hour.

The Jordaan is possibly the most famous neighbourhood in the Netherlands. Akin to the reputation enjoyed by London’s Cockneys, this once working-class bastion was renowned for tight community bonds, radical politics and a love for drink and over-the-top sing-a-longs. Gentrification of decades past has attracted more galleries, restaurants, specialty shops and upwardly-mobile residents to its scenic streets but there’s undeniably still a distinct atmosphere to be enjoyed here.
