In cool weather, the outside fire tables are lovely, and the waiters provide blankets for your lap or shoulders! Serve yourself coffee while you wait for a table. This place is so popular that you may have to wait. No reservations taken, but it seems if you call when you are on the way, you can bump up higher in the line.

Nature, Parks, Sightseeing
Several of our favorite walking, biking, and water play places are within minutes of our neighborhood.
A plethora of amazing natural areas can be accessed by drives of 1 1/2 hours or less.
Gorgeous cliffs. Climb, hike, stroll, or just look. It's very popular, so weekdays are more clear. About 45 minutes from Bend -- worth the drive!

Great water hole, and easy hiking along the river. If you park there and park another car at Riley Ranch Nature Preserve, you can walk from one to the other in 1.5 hours or so.
You need a state park pass for parking at Tumalo State Park, but not at Riley Ranch.
Note: Tumalo State Park is different than Tumalo Falls, which is farther away.

Another close place to enjoy the river and stroll, bike, or hike. If you go far enough, the trail connects to a section with a spectacular view of the mountains.

It's a good hike up, spiraling around to see the city from all views. In not-winter, you can drive to the top. 360 degree view of the city and the horizon, and a legend showing the name of each mountain. Popular for sunsets.
