Good grungy bar, tourists of a Friday/Saturday, locals other weeknights of an afternoon. Seats and tables out the back on the canal, same canal as us, 5 minutes walk from home. Sometimes a bank may play there, residend DJ's play regularly.

Sightseeing
Full of outdoor areas, bars, restaurants, shopping, the pleins are quite popular, Leidseplein pretty much the best and easy from ours to get to, just go down Marnixstraat (tram or 20 min walk) and you are there.

My favourite tour company in Amsterdam, not just because they are #1 on Trip Advisor, not just because I've been playing poker with one of the owners Rory for 9 years and enjoy his improv nights, yet also because of the diversity and quality of their tours.
I often get asked about walking tours around the city, redlight tours, seeing the tulips during season, Keukenhoff gardens, Windmills etc and they do it all ... my one stop shop :-) I encourage you to give them a call ...

Get all museum tickets well in advance, online, as soon as you decide to come to Amsterdam. Museums really sell out here ...
Get tickets online immediately. This museum can book out months ahead. Sometimes on the day apparently you can call by 8am and get lucky, yet if this is on your to-do list, book it before you book your flights and accommodation.
If you do miss out, don't worry, we live in a monumental building also, we have the same old historical building winding, skinny Dutch staircase, so you can even pretend you are sleeping in an Anne Franks style house ;-)
Anne Franks is a tiny squeezy staircase and room full of maximum tourists possible, but if it is on your wish list, book now if you haven't already.

On a weekend it's like going to a festival, music, bbq's, twirling etc. There's restaurants in there, ponds, a great walk through day and night ... and again ... an entrance is just along our canal (opposide side of the canal to Leidseplein.

On a weekend it's like going to a festival, music, bbq's, twirling etc. There's restaurants in there, ponds, a great walk through day and night ... and again ... an entrance is just along our canal (opposide side of the canal to Leidseplein.
They've often got little festivals or markets or live music going on, more restaurants than Vondelpark, a long pool/stream out the back for kids to play in, good for day sitting or visiting the bars of a night.

Full of restaurants and close to home. Italian, Indian, Spanish,, Thai, pub food, all sorts, take a walk down or google. Apparently also has the best pizza restaurant in town half way down the street (they are on both the left and right hand side, you wont miss it).
