Dun Beag Broch is about a mile away from Fir Chlis, so can be easily accessed on foot. It is a wonderfully preserved ruin of an ancient broch and is free to visit. The views are spectacular and if you allow your imagination to run wild, you could easily imagine what life must have been like in this part of the world thousands of years ago.

Dun Beag Broch is about a mile away from Fir Chlis, so can be easily accessed on foot. It is a wonderfully preserved ruin of an ancient broch and is free to visit. The views are spectacular and if you allow your imagination to run wild, you could easily imagine what life must have been like in this part of the world thousands of years ago.
The tip Oronsay Island is a three Kilometer walk from Fir Chlis. This is a tidal island and is accessible most of the time, but is cut off for an hour either side of high tide, so please check the tide tables. Part of the path can get boggy in very wet conditions so walking boots are recommended. You will see a beautiful sandy causeway, along with spectacular views of the Cuillin mountain ridge and Western Isles. For those who like wildlife, otters, dolphins, gannets and sea eagles to name a few are regular visitors to these parts.

This is a stunning beach about a 30 minute walk from the carpark. Be warned the car park gets very busy so arrive early to avoid disappointment. Is will take you 30 minutes to drive here from fir Chlis.

A circular drive takes you from Fir Chlis to Dunvegan, Edinbane, Uig, Quiraing, Mealt Falls, Old man of Storr, Portree and back to Fir Chlis. The drive without stops will take around two hours.

For those who like to go somewhere away from the crowds this is a must see. The ancient viking boat yard and settlement is accessed by walking from Glenbrittle beach. This is a long walk so dress appropriately and take a packed lunch.
