Best spot for breakfast, outside of the tourist scene. It opens at 6.30 every day (closes at 11.00), and serves local dishes like cayeye (green banana puré, a specialty of Santa Marta's gastronomy). Their main business is oranges and orange juices, so they don't serve coffee.

Probably the best restaurant downtown, surely the most expensive. The decor might be a bit tacky, the playlist kind of poor, but the dishes are pretty special. Peruvian cuisine, our favorite dish is the Causa Mixta and the Fish Croquetas.

The place where Simón Bolívar died, the prettiest place in the city by a mile. It doubles as historical site an botanical garden. Really worth it if you're into history or plants.
