Beautiful Pinoso is located in the interior of the Costa Blanca, about 50 kilometers from Alicante and 47 kilometers from Murcia. You can reach the beaches within 45 minutes. Pinoso is currently active in the extraction of salt and marble in addition to agricultural activities. Pinoso supplies 97% of Alicante province's marble production from the white Coto Mountains. Pinoso has about 8,000 inhabitants, also known as El Pinós (Valencian) and named after the spruce trees, which you see everywhere in the area on the mountains and hills. If you want to get to know the real Spanish life, no traffic lights, little car traffic with only the sounds of the tractors of the grape growers in the many vineyards, transporting their grapes (Monastrell) to the local bodegas for wine production. Pinoso is a place with a lot of accommodations, such as a sports complex with outdoor pools, tennis courts, football fields, gymnasium and a library. The clock tower built in 1889 with the clock mechanism that comes from Madrid and needs to be wound every 24 hours and strikes every hour and every quarter of an hour. This bell tower has become the symbol of Pinoso. Other interesting places to visit are the Church of St. Peter the Apostle and the Monastery of St. Catherine and the Sanctuary of Saint Fatima. The beautifully landscaped park in Pinoso is widely used for picnics and provides its visitors with free cool spring water. A number of well-known wine bodegas have settled in and around Pinoso. Well known are the Pinoso Bodegas with the wines such as Diapiro, Vergel, Vermaldir, Cristatus, Bodegas Volver and Casa Rojo, which sell wines to the top restaurants around the world. The inner man is also well taken care of in Pinoso, with a number of very well-known restaurants, such as Estam Aci, Alfonso Restaurante, El Raco de Pere Y Pepa and Taj Mahal.
