In Catania you can spend a full day walking in the centre, some really beautiful place are : Sant'Agata Badia ( where from the roof you can have a 360 view of the city with the Etna on background) , the Roman/ Greek theatre, Massimo theatre, the fish market and from the Duomo take a walk in via Etnea.
About beach sports the nearest are : lidi playa, it is a long beach, the main beach in Catania. An other interesting spot is San Giovanni Licuti made of black sand and stones , an other beautiful places are Acicastello an Acitrezza , but 10 km far from the city.

If you plan to go to Taormina, I recommend to spend a couple of hours at the beautiful beache Isola bella . Taormina is a very fancy town full of restaurants, shops and expensive resorts. The old Greek theater is very suggestive, with a breathtaking view of the Sicilian coast at sunset which is worth going, though you may want to consider the crowd and the prices first.

The best pizza places : rasoterra pizzagoumet experience 5 minutes far from the apartment, or frumento next to Mazzini square , or Acido Lattico about 40 minutes walking from the apartment or "Squib" next to Villa Bellini around x minutes walking. If you want to try something very local you should go to the fish market and check one of the restaurants around there, one of the best is "M.M.". if you want to eat near to the apparent some good names are tipico, il gambero pazzo and an other really good option, but expensiver are MA, and IN via vela dirci .
For tipical Sicilia food go to Ristorante Vico San Barnabà or da Antonio . Other tipical Sicilian food are the Arancini let's try it as a fast lunch to Savia, it's a really old and traditional bar in Catania.
Another very cool area is Via Santa Filomena, it's full of restaurants and cocktail bars where you can find anything from gourmet burgers like "FUD", meatballs "Polpetteria", pizza "Il sale" or sushi.
