The southern district in Antwerp is usually called Het Zuid (or in short: 't Zuid). Because of the many bars, restaurants and cafés, it is known as a trendy neighbourhood. The district owes its name to the Royal Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (Mukha) and the Photography Museum. In addition, the new courthouse, the Zuiderpershuis, the Sint-Michiel and Sint-Petrus churches and the modernist Sint-Walburgis church are located here. There are also many large stately mansions and graceful art nouveau houses in the district.
Definitely have a drink at Marnix plaats :)

Today, port activity is more concentrated in the north, but the port feeling still prevails here. Taste the old atmosphere of the unloading quay with monumental warehouses, lanterns, hangars and cobblestones. Thanks to three crowd-pullers, the MAS | Museum aan de Stroom, the Red Star Line Museum (really worth a visit) and the Port House, the link between the city and the water is underlined once more.
