This is a special place. Fab decor and food in Schull. Worth the trip over. Book in advance - NB they only take cash or pay by revolut. The space has had a complete overhaul in the last year and you can eat al fresco (no smoking) or dine inside. They also do a tapas menu for a quick glass of wine while you shop the selection from over the counter front section.

Owned and run by a French 'local' this spot has high quality food but in a casual atmosphere. The duck and beef stew and pizza are excellent. If ordering chips/frites, make sure to ask for their homemade garlic mayo!

Sightseeing

For any swimmers out there - this is a small hidden away pier great for swimming/diving. Best for medium to high tide. Parking/access easy enough but does get busy during the summer months.

You can't have come this far and NOT go to see Schull and beyond to Barley Cove and Mizen Head - here there is a fab beach and lighthouse that is open to the public. It is free to go so far/to the cafe but if you want the tourist experience you can pay to go to the lighthouse itself.

City/town information

Large market town with a lot of history including Bantry House and also the nearest cinema (3 screens) Great farmers market every Friday 10-2ish. First Friday of the month is the bigger version with some small holding animals e.g. hens, goats and a large 'car boot sale' section.

Little Logistics

Little Lodgings is located off the N71. Direct access is by car, walking or cycling. Bus Eireann will get you to our local village of Ballydehob and then we are a 20min or so walk away. Alternative is by taxi/hackney. Note: walking can be tricky as the road part of the national route and busy with trafficking. Recommend only for the confident/experienced walker.
