Located just six miles down mountain in Government Camp, Timberline’s Mt. Hood Brewing Co. features microbrews made onsite and fresh, Oregon-inspired comfort food. Tacos on the slopes! Remodeled in 2016, the Phlox Point Cabin was built in 1930 and has served as a warming hut for the Timberline Ski Club, a USFS summer guard station, and for more than 60 years it was an overnight shelter for Boy Scouts enjoying skiing and other winter activities. These days it is our mid-mountain ski-in-ski-out lunch spot where you can order tacos and beer. The cabin is located to left, trailside on “Walt’s Baby”, which is between the Pucci and Jeff Flood/Still Creek lifts and can be accessed by skiing down “West Leg Road” (then left on “Walt’s Baby”) from the Wy’East Day Lodge.

Skiing

Mt. Hood Meadows offers some of the most spectacular skiing and snowboarding in the Northwest! The resort is close to Portland - just 90 minutes away - but delivers a big mountain experience you'd expect to travel much farther to enjoy. Mt. Hood Meadows operates on a special use permit in the Mt. Hood National Forest, and the resort sprawls across Mt. Hood's southeast flank. The sunny, wind-protected side of Mt. Hood. Meadows' playful terrain welcomes and challenges all levels of skiers and snowboarders. We have a huge mountain with terrain for everyone, magnificent views and snowfall beyond belief. Our entire staff is committed to providing you with a truly memorable and unique experience that is Mt. Hood Meadows. From the steeps of the front side bowls to the gentle slopes of our beginner runs, Mt. Hood Meadows terrain is known for its diversity and playfulness. Voted by Oregonians for having the best cruising intermediate terrain in the state, Meadows offers more than 2,150 acres of pure enjoyment. Rising to its highest lift-served elevation of 7,300 feet, you’ll feel like you’re on the top of the world as you take in a panoramic view to the east and south. Legendary Heather Canyon is like its own separate ski area - endlessly steep pitches of powder into the spectacular Canyon. There’s an additional 1,700 vertical feet for hikers who want to drop into the double blacks of Super Bowl above Heather, bringing the total vertical available in just one run to almost 4,500 feet. Access gates (experts only) into Private Reserve and S&R Cliffs provide extremely challenging, pulse-pounding, gladed trails with cliff outcroppings. Those searching for the more open bowls of Elk and Yoda will be rewarded with epic runs and an experience you'll long remember and brag about. With 11 lifts, including six high-speed quads, the entire 2,150 acres of skiable terrain is easily accessed. This is a big mountain experience, with enough acreage to keep you busy for days, and enough character so you will respect and remember your time on these trails. "It's so much bigger than what I thought," is a common reaction of those hitting the slopes for the first time, knowing that they'll need to come back several times before they fully experience all Meadows has to offer.

Skiing, cosmic tubing, snowshoe and snowmobile tours! Mt Hood Skibowl is less than an hour from Portland and offers some of the best terrain on Mt. Hood. The ski area is known as America’s Largest Night Ski Area, with 36 lighted runs, 69 day runs and has the most lit black diamond runs in Oregon. Offering terrain for all ability levels, the resort features an expansive outback area with choice gladed terrain, excellent steep slopes groomed to perfection by two state of the art winch cats, and two progressive terrain parks. Mt. Hood Skibowl is an equal opportunity recreation provider operating under a special use permit from Mt. Hood National Forest. From perfect beginner slopes to the most challenging runs in Oregon, Skibowl has it all. Simply put: no other skiing on Mount Hood compares to the runs at Skibowl. Where most of the riding at other areas features gradual, featureless slopes up the volcano, Skibowl offers something entirely different. While Skibowl East and Upper Bowl have great, rolling runs for beginner and intermediate skiers, Upper Bowl is a different beast. That will become immediately evident as you ride the classic, center-bar two-seater to the top. Below you, a series of 5- to 15-foot cliffs line up on the steep, gladed slope. At the top, riders can take a left and follow the East Traverse along the ridge to a series of technical runs. Or, if you’re up for it, take a right and follow the Hanna Ridge toward Tom Dick Bowl and a set of steep, technical runs called The Chutes. Too steep? Maybe start with the steep, perfectly spaced trees in the Outback. No matter your ability, the terrain at Skibowl has something to offer that will always keep the skiing interesting.
