A beautiful and quick way to get outside. The Arboretum has features a greenhouse and bonsai garden, but its trails are high quality, too. A great place for a ~3 mile loop run/hike (ask us for directions), and the gravel roads are good for biking with kids. The entry fee is worth it.

Could be combined with a drive on the Parkway to Craggy Pinnacle or Mt Mitchell. Tues-Sat 9am-5pm. Call 828-645-6706 to confirm it's open if inclement weather.
