Food scene

This place is our favorite! The food is FANTASTIC and so is the service. I mean, come on, they even make their own ketchup! Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner!!!

This place is very well hidden, and you will likely only find the locals eating there. It's order, “at the counter” Mexican food, which is always the best food. There is outside seating if the days are nice. Don't forget to get your pinto beans free with every order. My wife LOVES the California tacos!

Good food and Great beer. My favorite is TRIALS OF TURBULATION – Tropical Hazy IPA with pilsner malts and Citra, Nelson and Sabro hops // 6.2% ABV https://distantbeer.com/ * Hard to find, but worth the stop. Across from Vons.

A bit tricky to find. Across from the 76 station on Main Street just before you get to Minaret Rd (The Village). South side, kind of down in a hole. If you want to sit down and be waited on, this is the best Mexican food in town. I think its better than Roberto's. However, if you don't mind standing while you order than the Latin Market is still the bomb!

This is our NEW favorite place for breakfast. Easily as good as the Stove, probably even better, with nice outdoor seating and a lot less crowded! https://www.goodlifemammoth.com

Sightseeing

1.8 mile, fairly easy hike. About 1/2 mile up hill to McLeod Lake then just under a mile around the lake before heading back down the hill. Trailhead can be accesses from the Horseshoe Lake parking lot. Just over a science 10 min drive up Old Mammoth Road to Lake Mary Road. When exiting the condo turn “right” on Old Mammoth (away from town) this will take you winding through the mountains and dead end into Lake Mary Road where you will turn left and follow it till it ends at Horseshoe Lake.

This is an easy hike that runs along the northwest side of the Sherwins. The trail runs along the side of the mountain and has views of the entire valley below. I recommend this hike in the evenings as it can be directly in the sun during morning and early afternoon hikes. To access the trail head turn right as you exit the Snowcreek complex taking Old Mammoth Road towards Lake Mary. The trail head is only a couple of miles up the road on the left. Use Mammoth Rock, the large spire sticking out of the side of the mountain, as your guide as to where to pick up the trail head.

Golden Creek Meadow Reserve

The Golden Creek Meadow Reserve walk is located just steps to the north of 637 Golden Creek. Walk west towards the spa and turn right walking between the duplexes, yes it’s okay to walk there.👍🏼 There you will cross a small field and then three small bridges where you will hook up with the reserve trail. You can follow the trail East to Minaret Rd. This is a dog friendly walk, so don’t leave your furry friend locked up in the condo. 🤙🏼 The walk is roughly a mile round trip.
