Wonderful prompt service and excellent coffee. 2mins walk from the apartment. When it's a good day try the courtyard. My favourite is the poached eggs with the cumin feta hash cakes.

The iconic beach where Jane Campion shot the Piano (winner Palm d'or). The drive is a bit hairy though especially if you aren't used to very narrow windy roads, so I can provide a driver if need be.

The walk from the apartment to Jacob's ladder takes you along St Mary's Road where you can visit the Ley's institute library and also the old fire station (now a good cafe called Mary's). The old ladder has now been replaced with a flash air bridge connecting St. Mary's bay to the beautiful harbour. In 15mins you can be at the promenade having traversed Jacob's ladder.
