My favourite restaurants
Here's a list of some tried and tested restaurants which offer a variety of different cuisines.
El Cartel offers delicious Mexican food. They do tacos as well as sharing dishes, such as quesadillas and guacamole. Each dish is approximately 6 - 7 pounds, and I would recommend getting 2 dishes each, or one each and a few to share. They also have margaritas, frozen margaritas, beers, and an extensive wine list. It's normally busy so you might need to wait 10 minutes for a table if you haven't booked before but it is definitely worth a visit... or 10. They take both cash and card.

The Birchwood is one of my favourite places for brunch. They used to do dinner too, but they recently stopped, which made us all very sad. This is a great one as it's a stone's throw from the apartment. I would recommend the toffee mascarpone pancakes if you have a sweet tooth, or the full Scottish if you're into more savoury breakfasts. They do great coffees. The Birchwood also does lunch. They take both cash and card.

This one's a bit more of a walk, but if you're looking for a British pub with delicious home-cooked foods, this is the place to go. They always have specials, and you can often find mussels and venison in their specials. A bill for two courses with drinks for two people will typically come to around 40 - 50 pounds. It's really close to Fountainpark, which has a cinema, and an arcade with bowling alley (check online for deals as some nights are really cheap!), if you're looking for something to do after dinner. They take both cash and card.
