Personally I think it's overpriced and the museum is a lost opportunity - asks lots of interesting questions like 'Why are Scots so over-represented in the British military' but doesn't really answer them. Hardly anything on women. But can you visit Edinburgh and not visit the castle?
Best views of it are from Calton Hill or Arthur's Seat.

Lovely food. If you're sick of British pub food and want something fresh and delicious, this is the place to eat. Share 4 medium plates with a friend, 2 glasses of wine and it's about £15 for lunch. Really nice food, well cooked.
