“The Skopje Fortress (Macedonian: Скопско Кале, transliterated Skopsko Kale), commonly referred to as Kale (from kale, the Turkish word for 'fortress'), is a historic fortress located in the old town of Skopje, the capital of the Republic of Macedonia. It is situated on the highest point in the city overlooking the Vardar River. The fortress is depicted on the coat of arms of Skopje, which in turn is incorporated in the city's flag.”

“The Millennium Cross on Vodno Mountain’s highest point is one of the first sights you’ll notice from most everywhere in Macedonia’s capital city, Skopje. At 1,066 meters (3,497 feet) the views from the base of the Millennium Cross are impressive, although finding out how to get there isn’t exactly clear. Fortunately, that’s the most difficult part; once you have the directions visiting the Millennium Cross is pretty easy. Get To The Bus Station Next To The Bus Station You’re likely to be told about the “Millennium Cross” bus line and all the stops it makes throughout Skopje. But it doesn’t, so don’t wait around at bus stop 11 as I did only to find out the route is essentially unpredictable. Skopje is small enough that from most points in the city, like Macedonia Square, you can walk to the International Bus Station within 30 minutes. (It’s roughly 2 kilometers, 1.2 miles, away.) Next to the International Bus Station is a large parking lot you can call the national bus station. Cable car cost is 120 denar, about 2 euro, for a round-trip. One way tickets are available as well, many bikers take the lift up, then cycle back down.”

“Traditional restaurant, only 3 minutes away from the SIA Gallery space on the Bohemian street, this place is on the Orce Nikolov street, and overlooking a small square. Although not the most refined place, it is always full of people, and is one of the most popular places among people from the creative crowd. You can always see some of the local artists, architects, theatre directors and actors there. Budget barbecue food, kebapcinja (traditional kebabs), with simple salads, etc.”

“The Fortress Kale is located on the eponymous hill, in the very center of Skopje, on the left bank of the river Vardar and partly in the western part of the bazaar. According to the information so far, the area on which today's fortress is located was inhabited since the prehistoric times, i.e. sometime around IV to III millennium BC. The fortress was again inhabited sometime around the 7th to 6th century BC. This settlement was protected by walls and existed sometime until the IV or III century BC.”

“Just off the river bank's walking and cycling trail, the Park of Lakes is a mix of small lakes, ponds, fountains, bridges, walking paths with trees and benches. There is a good playground nearby, and the place is visited by both children and elderly, as well as romantic souls. It is well illuminated in the evenings, and next to it is the Sport Complex Jane Sandanski with tennis courts and other sport facilities. Very safe and very popular”
