Parques y naturaleza en Savannah

Parque
“When I want to walk an area that vibrant with restaurants, games, and people watching, this is the spot! The 1 mile path is uneven, and bumpy in places, so not as nice for walking and running, but the energy of the area is a win! Also, tennis and basketball courts, if you play. Lots of coffee shops, food options, and my favorite independent natural food store, Brighter day, are all circling the park a few minutes walk away.”

“A breathtaking avenue sheltered by live oaks and Spanish moss leads to the tabby ruins of Wormsloe, the colonial estate of Noble Jones (1702-1775), one of the first settlers of Savannah in 1733. While not much is left, Wormsloe's tabby ruin is the oldest standing structure in Savannah. The real reason to go is the beautiful row of live oaks and the quaint community around it! ”

“One of our favorite places to watch a sunset, The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge is a breathtakingly beautiful place just north of Savannah. While the Refuge is massive and includes parts of Georgia and South Carolina, there is also a four mile loop that can be driven by car. You'll see all sorts of wildlife including lots of alligators, great blue herons, and seasonal bird life. Spottings have also included bald eagles, bobcats, coyotes, gopher tortoises, and snakes! ”

“One of Savannah’s most beautiful squares and it’s right out your front door of The Six Pence Flat. Doesn’t get any better for your Savannah Historic District experience!”

“Of the 2 major parks in Savannah proper, this on has the best walking / jogging track, IMO. 1 1/2 miles around, soft to the feet, and relatively even walking surface. Also, during summer months its home to a local baseball team, the Savannah Bananas! The down side? Not as much cutesy things to do within walking distance immediately around the park, and if you want food, you better bring it with you, or plan to walk to Krystals burger :-/”

“Feed the ducks! In the neighborhood. Like so much of Savannah...you are welcomed to the park with a statue/public art. Great community park with gorgeous lake views. There is a walking path around the perimeter which gives you great views of the lake, park, etc. There are quite a few picnic shelters, including one large shelter for at least 50 people in center of park. Nice playground area for the little people. ”

“If you head west on Taylor, then turn right in a couple of blocks onto Habersham, the first square you come to is Troup. It's got lovely plantings, an armillary in the middle, and the Jingle Bells church.”
