“The National Gallery of Jamaica, which was established in 1974, is the oldest and largest public art museum in the Anglophone Caribbean. It has a comprehensive collection of early, modern and contemporary art from Jamaica along with smaller Caribbean and international holdings. A significant part of its collections is on permanent view. The NGJ houses the premier collection of Jamaican art, from the Taino to the present day, significant parts of which are on permanent display. ”

“Trench Town Culture Yard is on the outskirts of Kingston Harbour. Dont try to walk it's a long stretch from Chelsea Manor, however is about 20 minutes ride via car or taxi and cost $10 - $15 US. Talk a walk into Jamaican music History and see where Jamaican Reagge Icon Bob Marley grew up and where bonds were formed with the wailers. it also gives insight into the why Trench Town is considered the birthplace of Reggae Music. The museum is raw and authentic and rich with Jamaican history.”

“This is one of the few local markets still open in Kingston. Here you can feed your inner tourist and see, touch and buy all the locally made craft items you can wear and carry back home for your friends and family. Beautiful straw hats, bags and slippers, amazing wraps, dresses and clothing items you won’t want to leave behind.”

“Ribbiz is the newest hot spot on the downtown hip strip. 20 minutes taxi ride from New Kingston (Chelsea Manor) it will cost US$10 - $15 to get there. You won't be disappointed, next door is authentic Blue Mountain coffee from Island Coffee, Devon House Ice Cream and Pastries if u have a sweet tooth and Jamaica's favorite seafood restaurant. Glorias. Take a seat outside and enjoy the vibe of the Jamaican natural harbour and have a cold Red Stripe beer or ask for Appleton Rum (Reserve is my favourite) you won't be disappointed. ”
