We are a family farm practicing a simple and sustainable form of living. If a farm stay is what you would enjoy, then this is the place for you! We hope you will gather some ideas and inspirations from our simple and rustic home.

PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION. THANK YOU!
We are located in the small village of Nahiku, half an hour from the town of Hana. We are very remote, and far from the 'other side' of Maui, where most of the hotels and beaches are located.
So if you'd like a unique opportunity to spend some time in a remote tropical location and see what it's like to farm in the jungle, here's your chance! Consider this a rustic farm stay experience in a beautiful, lush environment. This is a very rustic place, where we embrace simplicity and nature. We are a homesteading family, living simply to create a light footprint. We are offering a basic dwelling for people to experience something different. There are basic amenities; a propane cookstove and fridge and attached outdoor shower. There is a composting toilet a short walk away, which is sometimes shared with work traders or friends visiting the farm. There is minimal electricity since we are off the grid, so please bring a headlamp.
We are a small working farm with young children. Farm duties are performed daily, and we welcome you to pick salads from the garden and fruit from the trees. Also, we have a common kitchen which is mainly used by our farm workers/friends, inside our large "barn". Here there is also a telephone, weight room, workshop, and a large living area.
We usually have a few extra people staying on the farm besides our family. They are work traders, interns, or family friends returning for an extended visit. They are always friendly and open to interaction and communication!
Our farm animals include four dairy goats, 34 hens and one rooster, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a turtle, and a rabbit! They are all very friendly and love attention.
We are located down a quiet road with the ocean only a mile away. There are waterfalls to visit, and the walk down to the ocean on the Lower Nahiku Road is beautiful and remote, with spectacular views. We are a half hour's drive to the small town of Hana, where there are many beautiful beaches and natural scenery to immerse yourself in.
Since there is no cell phone or internet service, this is your chance to really unplug and get away from it all. We are offering something different, a real adventure on a remote organic farm in the jungle!

Interaction with animals, participation in farm duties, harvesting fruits and veggies.

We will usually be available to give a tour of the farm and include you in any farm activity you are interested in. We are normally home, interacting with our children and animals!

No internet or cell service. Please bring headlamp or flashlight for trips to the bathroom or car at night! (one lantern is provided for extra light)

Our dogs may bark when you arrive, and they are not on a leash or run. They are VERY friendly, and enjoy wandering about the farm.

There can sometimes be LOTS of mosquitos. Mosquito coils and a bug zapper are provided in the cottage, but we highly recommend bringing a bug repellent as well.

Our driveway is quite steep and difficult to maneuver if you are in a very low clearance vehicle. We've had all sorts of vehicles make it up here, but some are better than others! Just a heads up when considering staying here!

Normas de la casa
La hora de llegada es después de las 14:00.

Communicate your needs, respect others, and enjoy yourself!

We highly recommend arriving well before dark. It is best to orientate yourself with the farm layout and your sleeping space in the daylight. It is a long drive from the airport (approximately 2 hours), so please plan accordingly. Also, we are far from any grocery stores, so please bring all necessary food and other essentials with you. You must do your shopping in Kahului or Paia, before you get started on the road to Hana. We recommend stopping at Mana Foods, which is a great health food store in the town of Paia.
Our driveway is long and rustic, with two cement strips placed up a significant incline. No need for 4 wheel drive, but good to know that we are situated far off the road.

We do have children and our house is close by the jungle cottage. We will do our best to respect your need for peace and quiet, but please realize that kids will be noisy sometimes!

We remove our shoes before entering the cottage. It's the Hawaiian way!

It gets very quiet here around 9pm. Enjoy the sounds of the wind, rain & waves!
