This beautifully furnished apartment with high-vaulted ceilings is perfectly located within walking distance to Safeway, restaurants, and shops, yet is tucked in the woods within a quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the I-80, I-89 interchange lets you bypass hills and downtown traffic to be on your way. 10-15 minutes to 8 ski areas and 5 minutes to Donner Lake.

We have tried to think of everything you may need away from home to make your stay here comfortable and convenient. Our detailed house manual will take you step-by-step on the electronics and home amenities. Included in the manual is a room-by-room map that will show you the location of all items within the apartment. Look further in the manual for important phone numbers and a complete local dining and activity guide. Two flat screen tv's with DVD / Blu-ray players and an extensive movie library will help you relax after a day of fun activities. Lightning fast internet and a desk makes this the perfect place for the business traveler. A walk-in closet and full sized dresser will make unpacking easy and give you that at home feeling. A bluetooth sound bar and a huge board game selection will help provide entertainment on those stormy nights. So if its just for one night or an extended stay, we are confident you will love your visit at The Truckee Chalet.

Parking is for Automobiles and motorcycles only. R.V.’s, travel trailers, boat trailers, etc. are not permitted. Guest parking is in front the the “Guest Parking” sign on the left side of the driveway. Two cars are allowed with the second car parking on the gravel area on the left side of driveway. Additional vehicle allowed with prior approval.

Smoking of any kind is not permitted inside the apartment. This includes incense, vapes, or any other device that produces smoke. Any evidence of smoking in the apartment will result in a minimum $200 cleaning fee. Smoking on the hot tub patio is permitted but not while using the hot tub or in the presence of non-smokers. Hot tub cover must be closed. Dispose of cigarette butts properly and use a receptacle preventing fire. We are in a fire prone area. All burning items MUST be extinguished completely. Marijuana is now legal in the state of California, therefor, marijuana smoking is permitted with the exception of anybody under the age of 21. Smoking marijuana must be done discreetly and so long as it is not a disturbance to others. The smoking area for marijuana is on the porch and bench area outside the front door of the apartment (door shut). Please be respectful with these privileges as they may be revoked at any time. Thank you.

Quiet time is 11pm - 9am. You are completely allowed to play music or watch T.V. past these hours. All we ask is that you be respectful of our neighbors by keeping the noise down outside the apartment.

Pets are absolutely prohibited. Any evidence of pets may result in an eviction without a refund and 100% of deposit kept. Some of our guests are allergic to pet hair and we must respect their health.

Maximum occupancy is the number of occupants listed on your reservation. This also includes the hot tub. Over occupancy may result in eviction without a refund and 100% of deposit kept. You are allowed guest so long as they follow parking procedures and not present from 11pm-7am. Any guest past 11pm will be considered an occupant and a charge of $50 PER PERSON WILL BE ADDED to your reservation per night. Please just let us know that an additional guest may be staying, we will charge the standard $25 per person and might even be able to provide additional beds and linen. Total people at any time inside the apartment is 8 persons unless prior approval is given.

Burning of candles or any open flame while in the apartment is prohibited.

Criminal Activity Prohibited. Use of the Property for any criminal activity is prohibited and may result in fines or prosecution. This prohibition extends to use of the Property’s Internet service, if any, for criminal activity, including but not limited to unlawful downloads of copyrighted material, including movies, music, software, or other material. We will cooperate with any investigation of alleged criminal activity at the property during your stay.

Events or structures are prohibited. Prohibited events include, not without limitation, parties, meet-ups, weddings, and receptions. No tents, canopies, or other structures may be erected on the property.

+25 You must be at least 25 years of age to rent the property.

Flushing anything other then toilet paper is down the toilet is prohibited. This includes flushable wipes, feminine products, etc. ANYTHING. Please!!!

It is not our intent to limit you in any way. We want you to have an awesome time during your stay here and we will try to accommodate you to help make that happen. All we ask is to use common sense and be respectful of the apartment and our neighbors.

The guest will indemnify and save harmless the owner and the agents of the owner from any and all damage, loss, expense, claim, action or liability of any kind whatsoever, or howsoever caused including, without limitation, a claim of any kind by any member of the guest party (including those of a minor), which arises from or relates in any way to the use or occupation of the property by the guest, members of the guest party or by invitees of the guest. The guest is responsible for any damage of any kind to the property or the contents within the property caused or contributed to by the guest, members of the guest party or by invitees of the guest. The fact that children are permitted on the property does not imply that the property is without risk to children. Cleaners under the sinks should be considered poison. The gas stove and oven should be considered hot. Children MUST be supervised at ALL times.

My husband stayed 2 nights in this beautiful place. He said it was really comfortable and cozy. And he would stay there again when he comes back eventually. Very easy communication.

This airbnb was the absolute BEST! Cainen & Katie were both amazing hosts -- very friendly and accommodating. The space is very well kept, with everything you could possibly need to have a comfortable stay. It is in a great location, and is a wonderful place to stay to explore all of Truckee. We wish we didn't have to leave! Highly recommended. Thank you for sharing your home! :)

Clean. Cozy. Beautiful. Perfectly euiped for day to day living. Felt as though I was in my own home. It was walking distance from town and conveniences. A perfect place to enjoy Truckee CA

Cainen's place was exactly what I was expecting from the pictures and it was perfect for a weekend getaway for my bf and I. We attended an event at Donner Lake and the location of the rental was ideal: between the lake and DT Truckee and super close to a grocery store for any last min needs. The check in communication was organized and easy to follow. I'd definitely recommend this place to any of my friends heading to Truckee!

Cainen's home is clean, well-appointed and organized -- exactly as described in the listing and as shown in the photos. It was so easy to check in and immediately begin to relax. Location is great, home has a wonderful and cozy layout and a terrific hot tub to boot! Nothing about the house was lacking -- it was a perfect stay. Thanks, Cainen! Glad to have found your listing. I grew up in the Seattle, WA area and found Truckee in 1997. The moment I came here, I knew this was my new home away from home. So I packed up and moved here in 1997 and left 5 years later to pursue flying helicopters. Since I left, I have always wanted to settle down in Truckee but work and travel made it impossible. Now my job is consistent enough that I can choose where I live and a schedule that allows me to live full-time in one location. I fight fires in the summer and heli-ski in the winters.
