Traditional Japanese architecture tucked away in a great Berkeley neighborhood. Peaceful and quiet but just a few blocks to UC Berkeley, all the restaurants of the "Gourmet Ghetto", and the North Berkeley Bart station.
Traditional Japanese building with Tatami mats, organic queen size futon, and an "Ofuro"- a deep and luxurious soaking tub (similar feel to a hot tub). Entering the tub requires agility as it is high and you have to stand on a bench, sit on the edge of the tub, and swing your legs around. If you have any questions about that please ask (and see pictures). Lots of natural light with five skylights. Older wooden building with a somewhat rustic feel. The woven grass tatami mat floors have a noticeable smell of dry grass which we find to be lovely, but may not be for everyone. Comfortably sleeps 2 in new all natural foam mattress. Minimal kitchen with small fridge, tea kettle, and small toaster oven. We use fragrance free and non-toxic cleaning materials and provide Dr. Bronners hand soap. There is a fan available for use.
