Enjoy the best of the Champlain Valley in a lovely cottage on the lake. Fine dining, breweries, vineyards, museums, hiking, golf and much more is within 20 miles, though with access to a cement dock, bikes, kayaks, tennis and shuffle board, you may not want to leave the shore!
The peace and tranquillity on Thompson's Point has attracted vacationers for nearly 100 years when the first lots were leased from the town. People built small "camps" with the barest of amenities, not much was needed, as they were there to enjoy the beauty of the area and the lake. Camps would be added on to as time and money permitted. Our main camp was built by my husband's grandparents in the 1930s and has changed little since. (With the exception of minor creature comforts like indoor plumbing and insulation!) The guest cottage was originally built as a boathouse and workshop and was renovated in 2007 and turned into a fully functioning living space.
Please note that the cottage has an induction cooking plate, toaster oven, microwave, indoor and outdoor grill, but no range. If a guest was in need of a stove with multiple burners or full-sized oven, they would be welcome to use the kitchen in the main camp.
There is no built in heat or air conditioning, though space heaters and fans will be provided to keep you comfortable.
Disponible para huéspedes
We also have a small "tent house" that is available for an additional fee per person. This is exclusively a sleeping space and there is no bathroom. It is located about 20 yards from the guest cottage, so is not appropriate for young children, but is great for teens and other adult traveling companions. *This space will only be available for guests staying 2 or more nights.
The bluff with a hammock and the dock are shared spaces with our main camp that guests are welcome to use. We also have kayaks and bikes that guests may borrow.
Atención a los huéspedes
We split our time during the summer between the camp and our house in Williston, about 30 minutes away. We also travel out of state to visit family. If we are there at the main camp, we're happy to interact as much, (or as little!) as our guests would like, sharing the occasional meal and knowledge and recommendations for the area. If any problems arise while we are not there, I am easy to reach and can have someone there very quickly who can help.

Please note that while we strive for utmost cleanliness, this is a cabin surrounded by woods and all of the things that go along with that. Spiders, mosquitoes, other bugs and critters have been known to make appearances. Please be smart and mindful with your food storage to minimize the likelihood of pests.
This is a fun, laid-back community. Renters are expected to be polite and considerate of the other camps around. Remember, sound travels far on the water, so we respectfully ask guests to keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 8am.
As a gift to our renters, I will pay the guest fees if you'd like to use the tennis court across the road and one camp up. Let me know if you'd like to do so. We have rackets you may borrow. Per club rules, if members come and would like to play, you must cede the court to them after your game.
We occupy the main cabin at this camp most of the summer. We have cats and dogs. While they will not be in your cabin, they will be in the larger part of the area. (Though our dogs are leashed if they are out of our cabin.)
When the lake level is low enough, we will have an inflatable swim "island" guests may use. ***Please do not use the wooden swim platform, that does not belong to us. ****
Do not flush ANYTHING but toilet paper down the toilet. Our wastewater system is very sensitive.
The dock is very slippery, especially while still submerged in the early part of the summer. Use of the dock, swim island, bikes, kayaks, and the bluff are done so at renters own risk. Life jackets are required by law while kayaking. We will also provide those.
