My home is three blocks from the Victorian Village of Ferndale, with coffee lounges, restaurants, a repertory theater and wonderful, unique shops. The house is a cozy, mid-century ranch-style where guests can relax in the living room, sunroom or even on a small deck overlooking the garden. A perfect spot for couples, solo adventurers, or business travelers.
There is no TV in this guest room but you're welcome to watch it in the family room. I have a piano that would enjoy being played.
This room is fairly large, with 2 rocking chairs to relax in. There is no TV in this room, but I have books and magazines to read. Not enough of them? Just ask, I have many on the history of Ferndale.
Disponible para huéspedes
I have another guest room that maybe occupied the same time as you are visiting. You may possibly be sharing breakfast with the other guests during your stay. This is a wonderful way to meet new people.
Atención a los huéspedes
I live on the premises, so I will be there to welcome my guests. I will also be available to interact with them and share my knowledge of the history of our town.
Otros aspectos destacables
While visiting our town you should know that we have a lot of things that are interesting to everyone. One of the favorites is the Ferndale Cemetery, which was established in 1868. It a Protestant cemetery and you will find many duplicate names, originating from Denmark, as well as common Ango-Saxo names. Walking through the neighborhoods you will see beautiful Victorian homes that were built in the late 1800's into the 1900's. We are 5 miles from the ocean, halfway between the north and south redwoods, and gateway to the lost Coast. Our main street, with a variety of shops and restaurants, reveals happy friendly people, in a peaceful secluded Valley.
There are not many places to eat on Mondays. If you plan to visit on that day, be sure to have your dinner before coming to Ferndale.
No smoking anywhere on the property.
Not a Cannabis home

Hello. I am a recently widowed grandma, native of the Eel River Valley. A second generation descendent of the Danes who were the pioneer families of this region. I've been active for decades in the Danish lodges and at the Danish church, Lutheran. A former piano teacher, I presently sing with a local choral group. I work part time for the Ferndale Museum and our Historical Cemetery.
I am also the mom, grandma, and great grandma of a widely diverse group of folks, and I welcome the same diversity into my home.
